Since 1998 Sara has specialised only in family work, principally care and adoption cases for parents, family members, interveners, guardians and local authorities. Her practice now involves cases at the highest level often against silks involving serious injuries to children (including a number of cases involving head/ numerous injuries), fatalities, sexual abuse (including paedophile rings and intergenerational incest), fabricated illness by proxy, cases often involving parents and/ or children with disabilities and cases involving jurisdictional issues. Sara’s work involves appearances at all levels including the High Court and the Court of Appeal (e.g. M (Children) [2013] EWCA Civ 1170).

Sara also deals with private law disputes of all types and high value ancillary relief cases.

Sara has always been a very busy, popular barrister and as a result has built up a wealth of experience in dealing with public law, private law and divorce cases. Sara has been involved with a number cases involving domestic abuse across her specialist range of work and has had recent involvement in cases which have involved the death of a parent.

Sara has experience in dealing with Court of Protection cases for managing authorities, supervisory bodies, health boards, the Official Solicitor and family members.

Despite the often complex nature of the cases which she deals with, Sara is approachable and unpretentious and is adept at helping and reassuring both lay and professional clients. She prides herself on always being willing to provide assistance, often at short notice.
